Lateral patient transfers commonly assist elderly patients with limited mobility. They also help patients with disabilities that restrict movement. Medical teams also use them for patients under anesthesia or who are unconscious. The patient roller board provides a simple, efficient transfer solution. It features a lightweight aluminum frame with low-friction rollers. A durable cover stretches over the rollers to create a smooth transfer surface. This conveyor-style design helps move patients effortlessly between beds or tables.
To perform a transfer, lock the casters on both beds. Log roll the patient and position the roller board underneath. Then transfer the patient smoothly to the receiving bed or table. The low-friction rollers reduce the effort required during each transfer. This design helps minimize physical strain on healthcare staff while improving patient handling.
The patient transfer roller board is available in three different sizes to accommodate a variety of patients and applications:
- Short length is 25″ long which makes it nimble for tight spaces and smaller patients
- Medium Length is 30″ long, our most popular sized used in most OR’s around the world
- Long length is 67″ long and is designed for larger patients or in situations where a full length roller is needed
